June Online Workout Roundup

I didn’t do a roundup last month (oops) and or the month before (oops) so I figured I should get my shit together for June and share four workouts that I’ve tried from around the web. As always, if you’ve found any killer routines lately or made one up yourself, share the link with me in the comments section—if I try it and love it, I’ll include it in next month’s roundup!

Malibooty Workout from Tone It Up

Malibooty Workout from Tone It Up

Cheesy workout names aside (Malibooty??) the Tone It Up girls are great. They kind of make me feel like a horrible person because they’re all peppy and smiley and have perfect hair while I’m over here taking pictures of myself in baggy tank tops working out in my living room counting down the seconds until it’s socially acceptable to crack open a beer, but they know their stuff when it comes to health and fitness. This workout was good, but as far as targeting the ol’ (mali)booty, I actually ended up feeling it more in my hamstrings.

Hot 12-Minute AMRAP Workout from Zuzka Light

I love, love, loooove Zuzana Light. Discovering her high-intensity workouts when I was in college totally changed the way I approach fitness. I did this routine on a day when I just could NOT motivate myself to workout (we all know those days). This workout is only 12 minutes long—that, I could handle. I got through two full rounds of this and eight sets of the jump lunges in the third round, so I didn’t beat Zuzana, but I never do so there’s really no shock there. The jump lunge stretches really got those thighs burning!

Bootcamp Workout from Peanut Butter Fingers

Bootcamp Workout from Peanut Butter Fingers

This was a fun one! It takes 30 minutes to complete and the exercises are always changing so you don’t get bored. In between each mini circuit, I hopped on the treadmill for two minutes. I thought the last mini circuit of jump lunges and jump squats was definitely the hardest, and I would suggest really pushing yourself during the two-minute cardio sessions. At first I was just doing a leisurely 10-minute-mile pace, but amping up my speed really took the workout to the next level (that was a really meat-head-y sentence, I apologize).

November Knockout Workout from The Fitnessista

November Knockout Workout from The Fitnessista

This workout was quick and awesome (and similar to some of the workouts I post here so maybe that’s why I subconsciously liked it so much??). I finished in 20 minutes. And I loved the side plank bottom leg raises. I’ve posted several workouts here doing side plank crunches with the top leg, but the bottom was a whole new challenge. Definitely incorporating this move into future workouts!

  1. I also found Zuzana when I was in college! She rocks, and is the reason I am into fitness now and visit your blog. Is it just me or have her workouts gotten way more intense over the years? love ’em.

    • SO much more intense–like when she posts workouts with all those crazy handstands in them. Love her!

  2. what is the first move on the malibooty workout? It looks like she is standing up with two dumbbells,,
