No-Bake Chewy Granola Protein Bars

No-Bake Chewy Protein Granola BarsAs I mentioned when I posted that sweet potato veggie burger recipe, I’ve been on a kitchen mission lately to recreate things I regularly buy. It saves money, and it means I know exactly what is in everything I’m eating—always a nice bonus. I try to eat as little pre-packaged food as possible, but it can be tough to avoid the convenience of granola and protein bars when I’m running around in between teaching classes, getting in my own workout, and working on the blog. There are some wholesome, real-food bars out there, but for the most part, reading the ingredient labels on those things is like reading a chemistry equation. Why not just make my own? Can’t be that hard, right? Right! These are super easy. No-Bake Chewy Protein Granola BarsNo-Bake Chewy Protein Granola Bars [amd-zlrecipe-recipe:54]No-Bake Chewy Protein Granola BarsNo-Bake Chewy Protein Granola BarsNo-Bake Chewy Protein Granola Bars

As you’ve probably noticed, I’m not a huge animal-product consumer. The protein powder I used in these bars was introduced to me by a BTone client—Healthy Skoop is plant-based, and I’m really liking it! I admittedly don’t supplement my diet very often, but when I do make a morning smoothie or a recipe like this, the vanilla Healthy Skoop has been great. If you want to try it out, you can use the code PUMPS15 to get 15% off any purchase through 2/28/15 (excludes the super sampler).No-Bake Chewy Protein Granola Bars No-Bake Chewy Protein Granola Bars

Do you use plant-based protein powder or stick to whey? What’s your go-to brand? How about protein bars—what brands do you like?

Hope all you Northeast readers are staying warm and enjoyed the snow day yesterday!

  1. Staying warm, about to go out for the first time since Monday afternoon haha. I use Cellucor whey protein – cookie dough flavored. It’s so good. I used to use a brown rice protein, but got tired of the chalky aftertaste. These bars look yummy!

  2. These look great Nicole! I am a die-hard PlantFusion girl….obviously 😉

  3. Can you taste the protein powder–I am SO struggling to find one that doesn’t RUIN the smoothie/bar etc but have yet to do so. Sick of throwing them away!!!

  4. I love Healthy Skoop! I had the opportunity to try it out a few months ago through my blog. Some protein powders make me feel a little nauseous, but I had no issues with that one and it tasted good too–always a plus. Thanks for the granola bar recipe. Looks delicious!

  5. This is a great idea. I’m definitely gonna try making these.

I use whey protein myself, as I feel it’s better for muscle building/repair. I’ve used soya based in the past but I’m not a fan of it. There are too many studies to against it.

  6. YUMMM! Huge granola bar fan over here. And I usually use Whey protein but I have tried a few plant based ones – I should probably switch!

  7. I’m pretty sure I need to ask for a food processor for my 19th birthday. Actually, scratch that – I’m 100% sure. These look delicious! 🙂

  8. I love using my food processor! It’s such a game changer. I have been looking for ways I can make things I regularly buy too. Thanks for the recipe!

  9. Yum, these look delish! Thanks!

  10. I use Sunwarrior plant protein because my stomach isn’t a huge fan of whey. It took me a long time to find a flavor that was appetizing, but this one is amazing! I have the chocolate one and am interested to see how the vanilla stacks up. Thanks for the recipe!

  11. Hi Nicole! I actually use protein powder almost every day, especially in a shake with water right after a long workout. I never get home in time to eat a good meal, so I like to have the shake to hold me over until I’m ready for lunch or dinner after my sweat session. And I tend to like the tasty of whey products. Right now I’m enjoying Adaptogen Science TastyWHEY as well as Les Mills Good Protein. And you’re good to recreate the things you buy! I should try that:)

  12. these look awesome! I’m always on a mission to make things on my own when I see the ingredient list- granola is something I do all the time! Larabars are just so easy to grab, but I will definitely try these

  13. Definitely giving this a try this weekend!

  14. These look really good and I love that you don’t have to bake them. That makes it even easier!

  15. These look awesome! I can’t wait to give them a try! I use Whey Isolate but think my next jug will be vegan…just to say I tried it! 🙂

  16. These images are so amazing. I am soon going to prepare them and give them a try with my family.

  17. I’m a huge granola bar fan!! They look awesome!!! 🙂

  18. Just ordered the super sampler! Im so excited to try the protein and the A game powder.. The prices aren’t bad either with the autoship option..

  19. I’m the same way! If I had my way (aka more time in the day), I’d make EVERYTHING, right down to the ketchup. These bars look great! The only bars I trust now are lara and kind even though kind has a decent amount of sugar. Anyway, thanks for the recipe!
