Quantum Healing Hypnosis Therapy: The Theories behind It and How It Can Benefit Your Health

The potential health benefits of Quantum Healing Hypnosis Therapy

Two weeks ago, my mom came to visit me in Boston so that she could hypnotize me. (Just keep that sentence in mind next time you think your family is weird.) She went through hypnosis training last year, and before going back for the second level of it, she needed to have practiced on 10 people. Well, her flight was booked for this week, and as of last week she had nine under her belt, so it was my daughterly duty to be her final practice subject.

And I went into it with just that mentality—obligated to do it, slightly annoyed that I was giving up two hours of my day, and more than a little skeptical that I would even be able to be hypnotized. Throughout my life, I’ve become accustomed to humoring my mom. Sure, Mom, you can determine my spirit animal with your Native American dream cards. Sure, Mom, I’ll eat that cluster of sugar because it’s been blessed by your guru. Hypnosis seemed like just another “Sure, Mom” moment.

Well, I may have gone into it with these low expectations—but holy shit. I was blown away by the experience.

I wanted to share with you a little about hypnosis as an alternative healing option (it can benefit your emotional, physical and spiritual health), and tell you about my own personal experience with it. It may sound a little “out there,” but at the very least, I figured it’d be an interesting read for you guys.

To avoid this blog post turning into a short novel, I’m breaking it into two parts: Today I’ll talk about the basic ideas behind it, and next week I’ll share my own personal experience.

The Basic Concepts behind Quantum Healing Hypnosis Therapy

Are you picturing my mom swinging a pocket watch in front of my eyes while chanting, “you’re getting sleeeeeepy, very sleeeeeepy,” and then telling me that every time a Kardashian has a baby I’ll start quacking like a duck? Well, Quantum Healing Hypnosis Therapy is nothing like that. And you watch too much TV.

The idea behind it is that we can resolve our own problems and answer our own questions by accessing our subconscious. You go into the session with an issue or question in your life that you want to understand and resolve—it can be as big as wanting to heal a serious chronic disease or overcome addiction, or as seemingly minor as wanting to stop biting your nails or wanting to know why you love cats so much (seriously, why do you love cats so much—they’re evil). Hypnosis allows you to access your subconscious and find the answers you need.

How can your subconscious be such a know-it-all? That’s where past lives come in. Aaaand that’s where I might lose some of you reading this. I know everyone has different beliefs, and this is by no means me preaching about the existence or nonexistence of past lives and souls and reincarnation or any of that. Just think of this as an unbiased explanation of the theories behind quantum healing hypnosis therapy. No matter what your beliefs, I always think it’s interesting to learn about other ways of understanding spirituality—don’t you agree?

Ok, now that we’ve got the obligatory this-is-not-a-discussion-about-religion disclaimer out of the way…

The idea behind this type of hypnosis is that, while we may not remember our past lives, our subconscious does because, well, it experienced them all firsthand. And many of our personality traits, habits and issues in this life are shaped by our experiences in past lives. When hypnotized, our subconscious can show us the parts of our past lives that help explain the question/issue we are struggling with in this life.

Breakdown of a Hypnosis Therapy Session

With all this background info in mind, the therapy session is broken into three parts:

  1. Getting in “The Zone”: Your hypnotherapist guides you into a relaxed state; you access your subconscious and present it with the question/issue with which you want help.
  2. Seeing Three of Your Past Lives: Your hypnotherapist asks your subconscious to show you, one-by-one, significant moments from three past lives that have relevance to your question. Sometimes it chooses to show you moments from this current life.
  3. A Closing Chat with Your Subconscious: Your hypnotherapist asks your subconscious to speak to you and explain why it showed you those particular past lives. You’re then brought out of hypnosis, leaving all emotions from those past lives behind, but having gained the insight you need.

Everyone going through a hypnosis session is going to have a different experience. Some people remember everything; some people need the hypnotherapist to tell them what they said (my mom records the session so that people in this situation can listen to themselves). Some people slip right into the hypnotized state; some people need to be dragged into it by the hypnotherapist. What you get out of it will vary by person, so I’m certainly not touting it as some golden solution to solving all your problems.

But I found it to be so insightful and, in a way, cathartic, that I couldn’t resist talking about it on the blog. Now that I’ve laid out the background, I’ll get into detail about my own personal session in a post next week. Spoiler alert: the Middle East, my life as a man, that time I was Asian, and lots of crying. Stay tuned…

What are your thoughts on hypnosis? Have you tried it? Would you want to?
