5 Beginner Workouts You Can Do at Home

If you’re just starting to incorporate fitness into your lifestyle or are coming back from an injury or other limitation, these five beginner workouts are a great place to start. The first three have videos to go along with them, and the other two have extremely detailed pictures and explanations.

Beginner Core Workout focusing on Obliques

I recently dipped back into the archives and made a video to go along with this beginner core workout. In the original post, it’s 15 minutes long and uses an interval structure of 30 seconds work / 15 seconds rest. I changed the intervals for the video (40/20) to make for a 20-minute core workout focusing on obliques.

20-Minute Beginner Interval Workout

This full-body beginner workout will take you 20 minutes to complete and you’ll just need a set of dumbbells. Be warned: there’s a “surprise” finisher at the end and it may or may not involve (modified) burpees … 😉

Beginner Tabata Workout

It’s no secret I love tabata workouts, and this one is perfect for beginners! All bodyweight exercises so no equipment is needed. A chair is recommended for modifications.

15-Minute Beginner Upper Body Workout

Not only do I give modification options for all the exercises in this beginner upper body workout, but I’ll explain the “why” behind the routine. Lots of details in pictures and writing so you’ll really feel like you understand what you’re doing and why.

Beginner Lower Body Workout

This is a great beginner workout focusing on legs and glutes. I’ll demonstrate in pictures modifications and other options so that you can adjust the workout to fit your needs.
