This week I’ve done a couple IG Live workouts, and I wanted to share one here for anyone who wasn’t able to tune in in real time. We did this quiet workout (no jumping!) on Tuesday. It’s quick (23 minutes) but challenging.

I’m going to continue these live workouts, and will try to add more than one workout video a week to my YouTube channel. It’s important that we all take the spread of coronavirus seriously, and that means more time at home. My hope is that the IG Live workouts give you a taste of that group fitness class you may be missing, right in your living room. Stay safe, everyone!

Quiet Workout – No Equipment Needed

This quiet workout is broken up into three circuits. In each circuit, you’ll go through three exercises back to back, for 30 seconds each. You then rest for 30 seconds before repeating.

In circuits 1 & 2, you’ll be alternating right/left. You’ll do four sets, completing the circuits twice on each side. In circuit 3, you’ll just go through it three times.

As with all workouts, you want to make sure you’re properly warmed up before, and always listen to your body, modifying or stopping as needed. I have two guided warm ups:

A few years ago, I posted a resistance band loop superset workout that became one of my most popular videos on YouTube. So it’s about time I made another! This booty band superset workout will target glutes and take you 20 minutes to complete.

Booty Band Superset Workout

EQUIPMENT NEEDED

  • Booty band / resistance band loop – I’m using two, one tight/heavy one and another with a little more stretch for the second superset. Can absolutely be done with just one (but don’t go too heavy if that’s the case).

This workout is broken up into three supersets. In each, you’ll preform two exercises, back to back, for 30 seconds each. You then rest 10 seconds and repeat.

In the first two supersets, you’ll complete three sets on the right then three sets on the left. The third superset is both sides working together so you’ll do four sets.

As with all workouts, you want to make sure you’re properly warmed up before, and always listen to your body, modifying or stopping as needed. I have two guided warm ups:

This shredded Mexican chicken recipe was originally published in 2015 and has been updated with fresh new imagery. It’s still one of my most popular recipes, but I actually don’t eat meat anymore. (More on that change here if you’re interested.) I do cook it for Joe though, and I turn to this one because it’s so easy! ​​​​​​​

I mentioned this recipe in passing in another post, but it deserves its own as well in case anyone missed it. In general, I don’t like meat, but even I will find myself standing over the crock pot eating this easy slow cooker shredded Mexican chicken by the forkful because it’s so juicy and flavorful.

This “recipe” really just involves you dumping three ingredients into a slow cooker and then getting on with your day. It’s a food prepper’s dream! I’ll make a big batch at the start of the week and then have it on hand for taco salads, Mexican-flavored quinoa bowls, spicy breakfast skillets—the list goes on. 

3-Ingredient Slow Cooker Shredded Mexican Chicken

This shredded Mexican chicken recipe goes great in this Chicken & Corn Quinoa Bowl recipe. You could also easily add it to this Stuffed Bell Pepper recipe. If you’re entertaining a large group, try a make-your-own taco bar with this as a filling option!

The obvious use for this juicy Mexican flavored chicken is in tacos, fajitas, burritos and nachos.
