Hey guys! Sorry things have been so slow on the blog lately–definitely let the holiday craziness get the best of me. I’ve got a ton of great stuff coming your way this week (new workout tomorrow!), so let’s get back into the swing of things…
Even though my workout posts are undoubtedly the lifeblood of this blog, many of the most heavily trafficked posts this year were on other topics. To follow up last week’s Top 5 Workouts list, here are the most popular non-workout posts from 2014:
5 | My Experience with the NASM Personal Trainer Certification
This post is a good read if you’re thinking about getting your personal trainer certification. Don’t just read the post, make sure to read the comments section as well—tons of others have shared their own experience with both NASM and other programs, and they’re super helpful in making a decision for yourself.
4 | My First Stitch Fix (Review)
I’m glad a Stitch Fix post made the top five because they have been so fun for me to create! Over the years, the blog has become decidedly more Iron-y than Pumps-y (aka more fitness, less fashion), and these posts are a fun opportunity for me to style and shoot outfits. Stitch Fix also holds a special place in my heart because they invited me on my very first blogger trip, which was an amazing experience both personally and professionally.
3 | Crispy Parmesan Garlic Edamame
This post has had consistently high traffic numbers for a couple years, ever since being featured by Popsugar. I haven’t made it in a while because I now keep my dairy consumption to a minimum, but this makes a delicious, high-protein snack for all you cheese lovers out there!
2 | Why Rosehip Seed Oil Is My Skincare Superstar (Health Benefits and Uses)
Honestly, I think the comments section of this one is now more informative than the actual post! It’s become a discussion board with people asking questions about the oil and others (with way more knowledge of botanicals than me) leaving responses and insightful comments. I’ve learned a ton from reading through them all, and hope they continue to roll in.
1 | Apple Banana Quinoa Breakfast Cups
This delicious recipe was featured by BuzzFeed, which really helped it fly around the Internet. Usually when a post goes somewhat viral, I can’t help but get a little insecure about it. Is the photography up to par? Did I write anything stupid in the post? Is it worthy of being seen by all those eyes? But when this recipe was featured, I was just plain excited. I LOVE this recipe, make it frequently, and am pumped it’s been shared with so many people.
Alright, that’s a wrap for 2014 round-ups. Time to focus on 2015! 🙂

Hi Nicole! Goes to show you have some great diversity of topics on this blog. Nice work, and I look forward to seeing what you’ve got in store for us in 2015. 🙂
I love your blog! It’s very informative, it’s really difficult to find good fitness blogs. I know your top post is an old one, but I was wondering if I could ask you about fitness certification.
I am interested in becoming a group fitness instructor (not a personal trainer), and I was considering AFAA certification, which you don’t mention. Do you think AFAA is reputable? Thank you.
I personally didn’t do a group fitness certification so I don’t know too much about the different programs. I have friends certified through AFAA though, and they seemed to like it!
Hi Nicole! It’s great to see the diverse topics that you post. That recipe is how I found your blog earlier this year. Cheers to a great 2015!
I randomly found your blog while looking for Stitch Fix reviews, but I love it! I used to blog a lot more than I do now but used to be style and fitness then turned mostly fitness. I’m trying to balance it again as I start up in the New Year! Thanks for sharing all your Stitch Fix reviews. I’m looking forward to reading more about the fitness side in other posts!
So glad you found P&I! 🙂
