Greetings from the bomb cyclone! I think kids today would describe meteorologists’ name for this storm as “so extra” (lol). So far, it’s not too bad in Boston, although I may be eating my words later. I taught this morning and am now cozy posting these Stitch Fix goodies from the couch and getting ready to film a workout for the YT channel. And if the wind dies down, Joe and I might try to go sledding later on because we’re 30 going on about 9. Bring on the snow!
While you fellow East Coast readers hunker down for the storm, I figured it’d be a good day to talk clothes and whet your appetite for some online shopping. 😉 For my latest Stitch Fix review, I’m sharing what I got when I requested edgy pieces and a funky, statement jacket (spoiler alert: they delivered!).
But before I show you all the goods, let’s back it up for those new to Stitch Fix.
Stitch Fix is a styling service that sends you a box (“Fix”) of five items, selected for you based on your preferences. You can set up a regular delivery schedule (monthly, seasonal, etc.) but you don’t have to—no subscription is required and you can pick and choose when to receive a Fix. You pay a $20 styling fee, which is applied towards anything you keep. If you keep all five items you get a 25% discount on the entire purchase. If you send back all five items, you are still charged that $20 BUT for the rest of the month, they’re actually waiving that styling fee for first timers! In order to take advantage of that, just use any link to Stitch Fix throughout this post.
Stitch Fix carries women’s sizes 0-24W and XS-3X, maternity and petite, and they even have a men’s service (check out Joe’s fix here). They carry over 1,000 brands, so they have options at every budget (when you create a style profile, you can specify what that is). I always find my fixes are a good mix of brands I know and love (TOMS, Rails, Citizens of Humanity, etc) and brands that are new to me. I was actually introduced to Level 99 jeans through Stitch Fix and now have five pairs! Clearly a fan. 😉
If you’re interested in trying out Stitch Fix, schedule a delivery by the end of the month with THIS LINK so that you don’t have to pay a styling fee. That way it’s totally risk-free. Don’t like anything you get? Just send it back, no charge.
Stitch Fix Review
Each time you schedule a fix, you have the opportunity to leave a note for your stylist. If you have an event coming up, a designer you’re loving or a specific wardrobe need, it’s a great way to guide the direction of your fix. I didn’t have a specific occasion in mind, but I was looking for edgier pieces. When I don’t keep an item in my fixes, it’s usually because they’re a little too plain for my liking. Don’t get me wrong—I love basics. But I like pieces with a small twist or something to make them unique. I also like having statement pieces to make my casual getups a little more fun.
So for this fix, I asked for edgy pieces and specifically a funky jacket. I’m a jeans-and-a-tank girl most the time, and statement jackets are an easy way to ramp that look up a notch.
Clover Faux Fur Jacket – Coffeeshop ($78)

When I told my stylist I wanted a funky jacket, I didn’t give specifics but the visual I had in mind was a fluffy faux fur coat of some sort. Well check me out, just casually manifesting the wardrobe of my dreams (lol).
Chooka Metallic Coated Sweater – CATHERINE by Catherine Malandrino ($68)

When I saw the metallic material I was worried this piece would be stiff and itchy but quite the opposite. The inside is soft and the material falls in a flattering way when worn.
Farra Iridescent Splatter Skinny Jeans – Level 99 ($128)

Level 99 is a brand of jeans that I was first introduced to years ago through Stitch Fix, and I think I have about five pairs of their pants now. I love the fit and they have enough stretch to them to be comfortable. The metallic splatter detail on the bottom of these makes them a fun step up from regular black jeans.
Monika Knit Top – 525 America ($93)

The white seams on this t-shirt are super cute. You can’t tell because I have it tucked into my skirt here, but the bottom hem also has some fun cut-out details.
Siv Off The Shoulder Pullover – Elan ($68)

Love this piece! Probably tied for “favorite” with the faux fur jacket. It’s super soft and comfy and can be worn off both shoulders or you can tilt it so there’s one exposed shoulder. And I love that it’s long enough to pair with leggings. You could dress that combo down with combat boots or ballet flats or dress it up with over-the-knee boots.

And there you have it! Loved this fix and kept all five pieces. Again, if you’re interested in trying Stitch Fix, now is the time. Your $20 styling fee is waived with my link until the end of the month. 🙂
Which piece is your favorite from this fix? Fellow Stitch Fix lovers, get anything awesome recently?

I love the little bit of sparkle on that sweater. It’s enough to make it interesting without being overwhelming. The off the shoulder top is cute too.
LOVE that jacket.
I love that off the shoulder top + those boots!! <3
So cute. Love your style!
