My Favorite Things: November

My Favorite Things: November

It’s time for another roundup of favorite things! If anything favorites-worthy happens in the next 24 hours, it’ll just have to wait until December’s edition. Here’s what I was loving in the first 29 days of November. 😉

Favorite Products/Services

PiperWai Activated Charcoal Deodorant

Best Natural Deodorants - PiperWai activated charcoal deodorant

After getting a terrible rash from my previous natural deodorant, I switched to this activated charcoal deodorant from PiperWai and LOVE it! I haven’t had any underarm irritation since switching (I think the baking soda might have been to blame), and it smells amazing.

For more info, check out my Instagram story highlights (“Armpit Saga”). I saved it because I was getting a ton of helpful crowdsourced info about the topic, which I shared. I also continue to update an old blog post where I break down all the natural deodorants I’ve tried, which you can check out HERE.

Custom Return Address Stamp

My Favorite Things: November - custom return address stamp

I got this custom return address stamp from Etsy for sending thank-you notes and I’m obsessed! If my address wasn’t blurred out, you could really see how cute it is. (Not that I don’t trust you guys but … I also watch a lot of true crime documentaries lol.) There are TONS of similar ones on Etsy using different fonts and layouts. Browse them all HERE.

Favorite Workouts

Swan Song Workout at Equinox

My Favorite Things: November

I finally got out of my Equinox membership! I went in for one last workout which torched my hamstrings (still feeling it three days later), and thought I’d share:

  • 500m row sprint
  • KB Circuit = 10 squat cleans / 25 kb swings / 10 reps each leg SL Deadlift combo (one with non-working leg extending back behind you in the air and one with foot lightly on the ground behind working foot)
  • 400m row sprint
  • KB Circuit
  • 300m row sprint
  • KB Circuit
  • 200m row sprint

Quick but effective!

Favorite Eats

Stuffed Acorn Squash from Kara Lydon

My Favorite Things: November - Stuffed Acorn Squash

Love this recipe! I’ve made it two Thanksgivings in a row now, and it’s been a huge hit both times. Highly recommend.

Harvest Bowls from Daily Harvest

My Favorite Things: November - Daily Harvest Bowls (discount code for 3 free cups!)

My go-to easy lunch all month has been a harvest bowl from Daily Harvest. I add some seared tofu to it and it’s the perfect meal (they taste much better than they look in these pics!). If you haven’t tried Daily Harvest, you can get three free cups with this referral link.

Mixing Option on Sweetgreen App

My Favorite Things: November - sweetgreen app

Yessss. The lunch lines at sweetgreen (especially where I live in the Financial District) are out of control, so I’m big on ordering pick-up via the app. The one downside was that when you get pick up, the salads aren’t tossed. Well that’s changed! Now you have the option to have your salad mixed when you order in the app. If you don’t have the app yet, use this link and you’ll get $3 off your first order.

Favorite Things I …

Read

  • I’ll Be Gone in the Dark by Michelle McNamara – Definitely recommend this if you’re in to true crime. It’s about the search for the Golden State Killer, and while the book ends before he’s caught, police actually just arrested him. So read the book and then Google the ending.

Watched

  • Narcos | I just started watching the newest season of Narcos that focuses on Mexico. Joe is a traitor and watched ahead without me so now I have to wait for him to be out of the apartment to finish it on my own.
  • The Nineties on Netflix | Loved this docu-series on the 1990’s on Netflix!
  • Real Housewives of Atlanta | I watch Bravo shows on Hulu so I’m always a season behind. I took advantage of Thanksgiving weekend to binge the entire last season of RHOA and per usual, it did not disappoint. As far as Housewives cities go, I think Atlanta is tied for first with New York in my book.

Favorite Moments

Getting Married

I’m over talking about this, but couldn’t leave it off the list. If you missed the post I did about getting married at City Hall, you can check it out HERE. 🙂

Infatuation Launch Party at Pagu

The Infatuation had a Boston launch party at Pagu in Cambridge and aside from the yummy food, I loved getting to catch up with Sarah & Lexi.

Thanksgiving at my Mimi’s

A picture of Thanksgiving food?! So original. Loved getting to see my grandparents and many of my aunts, uncles and cousins this Thanksgiving. I’m lucky to have grown up with tons of cousins all close to my age—it made childhood SO fun and makes adult family get-togethers pretty awesome, too. 😉

Getting @nicolepearce

I realize it’s a little ridiculous that getting a handle on Instagram could bring me so much joy, but I’ve wanted my social media handle to be my name for YEARS. @nicoleperry was taken by an inactive account, so I couldn’t even reach out to the girl because she never went on Instagram (hence @nicoleperr with no “y”). @nicolepearce was taken, too, but she was willing to sell it to me! Still in the process of trying to get it on Twitter (anyone here know someone who works for Twitter? @nicolepearce is currently an inactive account whose last tweet was about porn lol).

___________

And that’s it for November! What made your highlight reel this month?
